2025/26 YEAR IN REVIEW

HUGE YEAR AT MYSTIC

It’s been a huge year at Mystic Bike Park, which has seen us navigate the most impactful harvest operation ever in the park, while continuing to progress new trails, trail upgrades, and a brand-new base hub. We thank HVP, the Alpine Shire Council, and other stakeholders for their support through the harvest process – while this was always going to be a challenging time, it was made much easier thanks to a collaborative approach from all parties.

So, what have we got done this year? Quite a bit!

TRAILS

It’s been a huge year on the trails, with 10 new trails built, adding 6.7 km to the trail network. Highlights include the new Marcus Mayhem Trail, which offers high-speed flow trail fun for all rider abilities, and the hair raising, Techno Prisoners, which offers one of the more technically challenging riding experiences in the park.  All in all, we have invested over $300k into trails this year, including trails for all riding styles and abilities.

ADVOCACY

While we are the first to acknowledge that all stakeholders have a genuine care and respect for the park, the advocacy effort to maintain optimal access and trail quality, while continuing to expand the park is a massive undertaking.

Across the past year, we have spent hundreds of hours in meetings, emails, calls, and field work, ensuring that Mystic can survive and thrive in future years. Our team are deeply committed to the future of Mystic.

BASE AREA

Developing a base hub for the park has been an immensely challenging process, which unfortunately hit a point this year where progressing our original plans became complete unviable. We don’t give up though, and thanks to our friends at Camp Crusty, we have taken on a lease to operate out of their park moving forward. It is early days, but over the coming weeks we will be expanding our workshop, bike hire, and retail offering, including launching a whole new line of merchandise. A huge thanks to the team at Camp Crusty for working with us to bring this space alive – if you’re visiting the par from out of town, their camping and cabins are as close to the trails as you’re going to get!

With support from our good mates at SRAM we have recently upgraded our shuttle pick up area with new fencing, earth works, and signage. This is just stage one, with future stages to include further landscaping, fencing, and lots more seating.

EVENTS

As part of our partnership with the Alpine Cycling Club, we support the club in running multiple annual events, at no cost to the club.

Enduro Jam 2026 went off with a bang, seeing over 50% growth in entry numbers from 2026 – an awesome result in a generally pretty tough economy for regional events! We are working hard to launch 2027 as part of a broader event series – more news on this very soon!

MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM

We have been working hard on a new membership program that will see expanded benefits across our suite of parks including Maydena Bike Park, and our new bike park facility opening on the Gold Coast mid 2026. Stay tuned for this program to launch in June.

WHAT’S NEXT?

We are gearing up for our biggest year yet at Mystic! We’ll be investing in a number of major projects, including;

  • Hero Trail rebuild (starting in July!)
  • New Tech trails from launch pad (starting soon!)
  • New Double Black Trail
  • New climbing trail projects
  • Spring event for Hero unveil

Beyond the above, we will be continuing to expand and improve the base hub of the park, including investment into multiple free access areas such as expanded seating and landscaping at the trail entry and shuttle pick up.

Further ahead we have planning underway for a new blue flow/jump trail from the summit, amongst many other new trail and general projects.

THANKS TO OUR MOUNTAIN PASS HOLDERS

Our Mountain Pass program has supported every single part of the developments noted above. Annual, Weekly, and Day passes are invested directly back into the park, and ensure we can develop new trails, fund bike patrol, and continue to keep our trails running in great condition all year round.

All current Annual Mountain Passes expire on August 1, so be sure to renew before the cut-off date or purchase a yourself a new membership to support Mystic. Stay tuned when we release the new range of Annual Mountain Pass / Elevation Club options online.

2025/26 memberships did not reach a level that supports the work needed to achieve our trail development goals across the next 12 months, and with major trail losses due to the harvest, it is more important than ever that we build lots of high-quality new trails, as quickly as possible. We are more reliant than ever on the community supporting our Mountain Pass and membership programs this season.

Thanks for the ongoing support – we can’t wait to see you on the trails across our 2026/27 season.
