Timber Harvesting UPDATE
We have recently been advised by land managers, HVP that for operational reasons the remaining planned harvest that was scheduled for Spring 2027 will be brought forward to early October 2026. This change in harvest schedule has come about at very short notice, and has required us to make significant operational and trail planning changes across the western side of the park.
From 5th October until mid-December, much of the western side of the park will be temporarily closed.
It’s important that users understand Mystic Bike Park is still operating and open for riders everyday but the following trails will be temporarily suspended from riding ( from 5th Oct 2026 – Mid Dec 2026)

Importantly, not all trails will be impacted by the harvest – many closures are in place for safety reasons during haulage operations.
Although the first harvest has wiped out a few trails – we are continuing to rebuild and repair – and now with the abrupt continuation of the Harvest we will accelerate building our network in other parts of the park.

These trails are available everyday via Pedal in access with a Mountain Pass or our Uplift Service during operating hours.

UPLIFT SERVICE
What are we doing about Uplift access?
For the duration of the harvest there will also be changes to our uplift route and capacity. During this period we will be returning to our secondary uplift route, which will have a summit drop off at Emily Spur (top of Mid Flowmingo – sector 2).
For the duration of the harvest, we will be reducing our uplift prices by 20%.Â
FORWARD PLANNING
What about new trails?
We have completely recalibrated our trail program and will be working to bring online a number of new trails earlier than expected, including new climbing and gravity trails.
Our trail crews will be working hard to bring the following all in time for Christmas:
- Super Hero (Black jump line trail)
- A new Black Tech single trail from the top of Mystic Mountain (replacement for Elevation)
- New connecting link down into Marcus Mayhem
These exciting new projects will bring the western ridge of the bike park back to life, delivering an awesome range of new trail experiences. Further trail works, including a second round rebuild of Up DJ will be scheduled in, with a broader update to come on trail plans across the coming weeks.
We appreciate the community’s support through this process. Once this harvest is out of the way, Mystic has a prolonged period that will see no major harvest disruptions.
FAQ’S
Is Mystic open during the harvest period?
Yes! We are open every day for pedal in access throughout the harvest period. The vast majority of our trails remain open, with closures only affecting the western side of the park SEE Map. See our Uplift/Hire operations here.
Are shuttles running during the harvest period?
Yes! Our shuttle schedule remains unchanged. During this period, we will be using our secondary uplift route, which will drop riders at Emily Spur (sector 2 of Mid Flowmingo). This is the only drop off option available during this period.Â
Why didn’t you communicate this earlier?
Mystic Bike Park is located in a working pine plantation. As a part of our license to operate the park, we are required to comply with the harvest needs of land manager, HVP. The current harvest was not planned to occur until Spring 2027, but we were advised by HVP in recent days that this operation would now commence on October 5th. We have communicated this change to our community as quickly as possible.Â
When will this side of the park be back open?
The harvest is due for completion mid December. We will return to normal uplift operations before the December school holidays. Trail crews are working to establish new connecting trails and will have Super Hero and core trails on the western side of the park open by December school holidays.
